Who Can Join?

We have places for everyone over the age of 4 years. Children join one of our five sections depending on their age:

Squirrels: - 4 to 6 years old Beavers: - 6 to 8 years old Cubs: - 8 to 10½ years old Scouts: - 10½ to 14 years old Explorers: - 14 to 18 years old We also have places for Adults of any age. You can be supporters, helpers, leaders, skills instructors, administrators and anything else you can think of. Scouting is fun for adults as well as children and there is nothing more rewarding than working with young people in the Scouts. Details on our Volunteer Page or click the button above.

Is there a place for me?

We are a popular Group and we sometimes experience a high demand for places. We operate a waiting list system and this helps us to plan for the future so that we know how many places we will need to provide. The most important thing to do is to contact us as soon as possible. We will do everything we can to find you a place. Do not wait until your child is 4 years old, contact us as soon as you can.
If you are already 4 or over, please don't assume we are full. We expand our operations to meet the demand so contact us now.

What does it cost?

We do everything we can to keep the cost of Scouting down and we subsidise the actual cost by fund raising. Currently, subscriptions are £27.50 per term. There is no charge for adults.

I am an adult and would like to help but I have no experience.

This is not a problem. We offer a comprehensive training programme for adults and you are never left without support. There are all sorts of ways that adults can help with Scouting. There is more information on our Volunteer Page. Please contact us now.
