Scout Water Activities Camp - How Hill 2014

Sea Scouts are often found out on the water sailing and paddling. This year we camped at a fantastic greenfield site near How Hill and right by the water. Ideal to get out and about on the Norfolk Broads. Here are some pictures:

Beaver Sleepover 2014

This year the theme was St George and we all dressed up in costume as well as making shields, lances, helmets and hobby horses. Here are some pictures:

Tilting
Tilting the Quintain was a form of lance work training for knights as well as a sport.
We used rather bendy lances but the Beavers were surprisingly accurate.

Cub Camp 2013

Here we see Friday Cubs at camp. We were very fortunate with the September weather and had a great time out in kayaks and power boats as well as catching up on all our badges.

Beaver Sleepover 2013

This year, the Beavers went camping at the Mike Thurston Water Activities Centre. The theme was Mario Kart. This explains some of the strange costumes we were wearing.
We had a great time making and racing our themed go-karts as well as getting out on the water in Kayaks. The food was Italian too with some amazing pizza cooked on a open fire under plant pots. The theme also explains why we spent some time running round the site searching for hidden plumbing parts.
The lake provided a great wildlife display with literally thousands of tadpoles while a kestrel hovered overhead. Only one Beaver fell in the lake but we all got a bit wet from time to time. The camp fire warmed us up in the evening and some Beavers showed that they are fantastic entertainers with songs and jokes.
Here are some pictures. There are lots more on a secure website. Send us an e-mail if you would like to see them.

BEAVER SLEEPOVER 2011

Great news. The rules on Beavers camping have been relaxed and so for the first time our sleepover could be outside in tents. We took full advantage and this year 18 Beavers set off on a Pirate adventure.
Naturally, we went out in boats. We also played lots of games and learned some new skills. We had great weather and it was a fun and action packed weekend.
Of course, what you really want to see are some pictures and there are a few below. To see the pictures full size and to see about a hundred more, send us an e-mail and we will send you a link to a secure website where you can see the pictures.

WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE - SWEDEN 2011

Every 4 years, Scouts gather from all over the world for the World Scout Jamboree. This year the 22nd Jamboree was held at Rinkaby in Southern Sweden and over 40,000 Scouts were there. One of our Beaver Leaders, Nigel, was there. Nigel was in charge of the planetarium, giving star shows 12 hours a day in a huge inflatable dome. Hard work but fantastic fun.
